Angels will bring us home

When Jesus describes Himself in the third person as the Son of Man and how He will come in power and with great glory, He is trying to make sure that we should not be confused as to who He is when the end times come.  Though many will try to act like they are Him, there is no one like Him.  How many times do we recite the Lord’s prayer, that He taught us to pray — “For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory?” Our hope is in His coming again and the power and the glory in which He comes the entire universe will know that the One whom all things belong has come back for those who love Him.

Jesus’ returning in glory is the hope of the Church.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also. – John 14:3

His return is a promise that will be fulfilled.

So we continue on in our lives today, renouncing our own temptation to put ourselves on the throne of our lives that should be given for God.  Let us continue to give out of His love that He has given to us and not be concerned with worldly affairs.  Knowing our own weaknesses, may the hope of His coming and the anticipation of being with Him forever, enables us to meet with Him daily and be reconciled with Him.  May Easter Sunday be in our hearts every day knowing that resurrection Sunday is the proof of the promise being fulfilled of a new life with Him. Joy, peace, hope and love our outcomes of our new life.

Even as the angels may gather us on that final day, we will not be angels, but glorified saints, serving throughout eternity right alongside them.   Thank the Lord for the living hope He provides for the believer in Jesus Christ.

So, if they say to you, “Look! He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, “Look! He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.  For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.  Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.  “Immediately after the suffering of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken.  Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see “the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven’ with power and great glory.  And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. – Matthew 24:26-31
